Oasis of calm in the heart of town, Millers Yard is a lovely peaceful spot to take a breather with a hot coffee and delicious slice of cake. As well as outdoor seating, the cosy cafe has an industrial vintage style interior with some Scandinavian inspiration. Ideal for couples of small groups looking for an escape from running errands around town.
AFB Dance Academy is a small and friendly ballet school based in Great Bowden, close to the town of Market Harborough. We specialise in teaching the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. The RAD is a world-renowned organisation known for high-quality dance education. Both teachers and students benefit from the high standards set by the RAD and you can be confident with the standard of teaching and learning in our classes. Based close to Market Harborough, we currently hold classes in Great Bowden and Foxton. As a small school, we have time to support your child individually during classes and aim to provide a nurturing and supportive environment. Alongside ballet, we offer tap classes. With a more relaxed feel these classes aid children with musicality and rhythm which supports progress in other dance styles.
Children can begin studying ballet with our school from age 2 1/2 starting in our Nursery classes. When they begin school aged 4-5 children are invited to move onto the Graded syllabus and can begin taking exams from the age of 6. We offer students the opportunity to be entered into a wide range of ballet exams and assessments with the RAD. Providing support for students through the exam and assessment process we aim to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best, rewarding students of all ages and abilities. Exams are not a compulsory element to learning and, if they choose, students are able to progress through the Grades without taking exams meaning they can remain in classes with their peers.
